Though tired, the daughter-in-law decided to scrub the pavement outside her bungalow. She looked around, considering the situation and the traffic that flowed faster than she could manage.
“Madam,” a voice called from the shadows, “do you need help?”The girl turned to see a servant holding a box of cloves, his hands stained with grease from the street food he had been selling.
“Something smells good,” she said, her cheeks brightening with excitement.
“Would you like to try some vada?” he asked, smiling as he offered her a piece.
She took it, savoring the flavors while thinking about her dreams of a better life.
“Tomorrow,” she murmured, “I will make my own path.”
As she walked away, the sounds of honking vehicles and distant howling filled the air, wrapping around her like a cloak of determination.
In that moment, she felt a spark of hope ignite within her—a reminder that even in the chaos, there was beauty to be discovered.
